This fireside chat recap is from Day 1 of FreightWaves LIVE @HOME.

FIRESIDE CHAT TOPIC: Visibility 2.0: Spotting opportunities in a rapidly changing market

DETAILS: Logistics leaders need real visibility into their supply chains, as the many disruptions of the past year demonstrated. Ketan Karkhanis and FreightWaves’ Grace Sharkey discuss critical industry trends, the next generation of visibility and how to spot opportunities in a rapidly changing market.

SPEAKER: Karkhanis is the chief product officer at Turvo.

BIO: Karkhanis leads product management, design, engineering and customer success at Turvo. He previously spent 10 years as a product executive at Salesforce. He advanced through the ranks to serve as the senior vice president of product and GM for Einstein Analytics at Salesforce, responsible for driving all aspects of the Analytics Cloud business.

KEY QUOTES FROM KARKHANIS:

“I don’t think of it as capacity deficits, I think of them as customer expectations deficits. Every time you have a capacity problem, you have a customer experience problem. COVID shed the light on that.”

“Boards are finally saying, ‘What are we doing to embrace this new hybrid economy?’… Half of the companies in the world are not ready for this. They are not ready because they have not digitized their supply chain.”

“Turvo customers did not skip a beat during the COVID pandemic. … The fundamental reason why they separated themselves from the pack was one simple data point. Seventy percent of supply chain actors needed to execute on your supply chain are not within the four walls of your company. … [Turvo customers’] visibility was within their four walls.”

“[In regard to technology investments] don’t buy a flip phone, buy a smartphone.”
