On this episode of Medically Necessary, Matt Blois dives into how BOXLOCK is making time less of a problem for the delivery of biological specimens.

Blois talks to Andew Kelley, BOXLOCK’s chief commercial officer, about how the pandemic has accelerated growth in the health care logistics industry and forced labs and health care providers to be more efficient.

BOXLOCK wants to use technology to improve lab logistics by using barcode tracking to generate datasets about access to time-sensitive samples. BOXLOCK got its start as a way to stop thieves from stealing packages off residential porches but has since expanded into health care.

The technology has been particularly useful for the diagnostic lab industry, and BOXLOCK says it can help labs make those pickups more efficient.
